$250,000 in Defense Grants in Jacksonville Benefits Florida National Guard
ST. AUGUSTINE – The Defense Support Task Force has awarded a $250,000 grant to the City of Jacksonville for the construction of an explosive ordnance disposal bunker at Jacksonville’s Florida Air National Guard Base.
The Adjutant General of Florida, Maj. Gen. Emmett R. Titshaw, stated “this construction makes our Airmen and the residents of Jacksonville safer as we continue to modernize our fighter aircraft and equipment. We appreciate the City of Jacksonville’s and the Florida Defense Support Task Force’s consideration and support for this grant.”
Titshaw added, “as the military reorganizes and remissions our Air Guard, this added force protection capability makes our base more valuable in the eyes of the decision makers. Our partnership with the Florida Defense Community and support from the citizens of Jacksonville has been unwavering. We thank them and our elected officials for making this happen.”
