Statement by Rep. Rob Schenck on the Appropriations Committee’s Passage of Campaign Finance Reform

Tallahassee, Fla.—State Representative Rob Schenck (R-Spring Hill) today released the following statement regarding the Appropriations Committee’s passage of a campaign finance reform bill (HB 569):

“I thank the Members of the House Appropriations Committee for passing this piece of legislation today and taking an important step to reform our state’s broken campaign finance system. By increasing transparency and accountability in the system, these reforms will empower our citizens with timely information that will allow them to make more informed choices when casting their votes. I value the thoughtful debate my colleagues and I have had on this issue, and look forward to continuing to work together on this proposal to improve Florida’s campaign finance laws.”

HB 569 Florida Election Code will be heard next in the State Affairs Committee.
