STATEMENT FROM ICUF PRESIDENT ED MOORE REGARDING GOVERNOR SCOTT’S 2013 STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS

“On behalf of Florida’s independent educational institutions, I commend Governor Scott’s unwavering focus on job creation in Florida,” said Dr. Ed Moore, President of Florida’s Independent Colleges & Universities. “During today’s State of the State address, the Governor made clear his goals for continuing to revitalize Florida’s economy – and the significant role higher education will play in pushing Florida further as an innovative place to do business with tremendous higher education resources.

“The graduates of ICUF institutions are eager to join our workforce and we look forward to expanding our work as creative partners in the Florida economy. Starting life with good jobs, stable wages and budding opportunities is critical to keep our graduates in Florida and add vitality to our state’s competitiveness across the globe.”
