TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –Attorney General Pam Bondi released the following statement on the unanimous passage of the Controlled Substances Bill, Senate Bill 294, in the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Criminal and Civil Justice. This legislation adds 23 additional substances to Schedule I of controlled substances, making it a third-degree felony for an individual to “sell, manufacture, or deliver, or possess with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver” these dangerous drugs. Senate Bill 294 is sponsored by Senator Rob Bradley, and the House companion, House Bill 619, is sponsored by Representative Clay Ingram.
“It is imperative that we continue to ban these dangerous substances that are wreaking havoc on Floridians, particularly our youth,” stated Attorney General Pam Bondi. “I applaud Senator Bradley and the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Criminal and Civil Justice for their commitment to protecting Floridians and working to make these drugs illegal.”
