Gov. Scott Recognizes Two at NFIB Reception with Governor’s Business Ambassador Medals

Tallahassee, FL – Governor Rick Scott awarded Governor’s Business Ambassador Awards to National Federation of Independence Business (NFIB) Florida’s Executive Director Bill Herrle and to Leadership Council Chairman Jerry Pierce for their work in growing jobs for Florida families.

Governor Scott said, “In the last two years, we have cut spending, cut taxes, and paid down debt. We have created around 200,000 new jobs, and the unemployment rate has dropped to 7.9 percent – a four year low. I thank Mr. Herrle and Mr. Pierce for their work in creating jobs for Florida families, and for fostering small business entrepreneurship in Florida. These medals symbolize our appreciation for their work to expand opportunities for Florida families.”

Bill Herrle is the executive director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Florida, which is a small-business advocacy group. Herrle manages NFIB’s state operations in Florida, and he was Florida’s NFIB state director from 1990 to 2001 and rejoined NFIB in March 2007.

Jerry Pierce is the Leadership Council Chairman for Florida’s NFIB, and the owner of Restaurant Equipment World in Orlando. He is a champion for expanding opportunities for Florida families and small businesses, and he is a leader in the community.
