**MEDIA ADVISORY**
2 p.m. Today, Monday, March 18
Grandparent Visitation Legislation

The issue of grandparents’ visitation rights — and the saga of Michelle Parker, a mother of three who disappeared in November 2011 after dropping off her young twins with her ex-fiancé — takes center stage in a Florida House committee today as lawmakers consider legislation proposed by state Rep. Darryl Rouson (D-St. Petersburg).

A proposed committee substitute for House Bill 19 by Representative Rouson will be heard by the House Civil Justice Subcommittee, which meets from 2 to 6 p.m. today (March 18) in 404 House Office Building, Tallahassee.

Yvonne Stewart, mother of Michelle Parker, and other advocates will be on hand to testify at the meeting. Representative Rouson will be available to the press following the committee vote.
