Republican Party of Florida Congratulates Mike Hill On Winning Special Primary Election
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Republican Party of Florida Chairman Lenny Curry and Speaker Designate Steve Crisafulli congratulated Mike Hill on winning the Republican nomination in the special primary in Florida House District 2. Mike Hill is a devoted husband and father. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and has owned a small business for over 20 years. Mike is also the president of the Northwest Florida Tea Party.
“I congratulate Mike Hill for his victory in tonight’s special primary election. Mike is a true conservative, committed to the strengthening Florida’s economy by shrinking government and keeping taxes low, and I know he will ably honor the legacy of Representative Clay Ford. I offer him my full support for the upcoming general election. I am confident Mike Hill will be elected to the Florida House of Representatives, and I look forward to serving alongside him,” said Crisafulli.

The HD 2 special general election will be held on June 11. House District 2 covers portions of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties – namely Pensacola, Pensacola Beach and Gulf Breeze.
Registered Republicans make up approximately 45% of the registered voters with Democrats accounting for 35%. Mitt Romney received 59% in District 2 in 2012 with Rick Scott and John McCain each receiving 58% in their respective races.
A special election for House District 2 was required after the passing of State Representative Clay Ford who served this district admirably from 2007 through 2013.
