Wasserman Schultz said she wouldn’t get involved. ‘I’m the chair of the Democratic National Committee. I do not micromanage any state party’s program for their Jefferson-Jackson dinner, whether it’s my own state or any other. So I haven’t had any conversations with Allison Tant about what her program should include this weekend. She’s made that decision on her own. Crist Is So Important To Charlie’s Future,” Saint Peters Blog, 8/8/12)

And this spring, Rouson parted ways with the Tampa law firm of Morgan & Morgan, which had been paying him as much as $565,000 annually.” (Susan Taylor Martin, “Rep. Darryl Rouson Failed To Pay Taxes On Tallahassee Townhouse,” The Tampa Bay Times, 6/4/13)
AMIDST NATIONAL SCANDALS, WOULD YOU ADVISE GWEN GRAHAM TO CAMPAIGN WITH THE PRESIDENT OR NOT?
The Associated Press: “Facing Controversy, Obama Political Value Unclear.”“A string of high-profile controversies involving the Internal Revenue Service and government intelligence-gathering raises questions about whether Obama will be more asset or liability for his party in the coming election season, with control of Congress and his second-term agenda at stake. Even in Democrat-friendly Massachusetts, there are signs of modest declines in his popularity as Republicans seize on the White House’s struggles in the special election to replace John Kerry and in nascent campaigns across the nation.” (Steve Peoples and Josh Lederman, “Facing Controversy, Obama Political Value Unclear,” The Associated Press, 6/12/13)
Polls Show Public Distrust Of Obama On IRS Scandal. “A pair of new polls indicated that Americans are questioning President Barack Obama’s honesty in the wake of the Internal Revenue Service targeting scandal. The latest Bloomberg National Poll released Tuesday evening showed that 47 percent of Americans don’t believe Obama’s claim that he wasn’t aware the IRS was targeting conservative groups for additional scrutiny, while 40 percent believe he is telling the truth. Meanwhile, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released early Wednesday showed that 55 percent of Americans believe the agency’s improper targeting raises doubts about the Obama administration’s honesty and integrity. But the same NBC/WSJ poll found that only 33 percent believe Obama is “totally” or “mainly” responsible for the targeting. It also showed the President’s approval rating holding steady since the previous NBC/WSJ poll in April.” (Tom Kludt, “Polls: Public Questions Obama’s Honesty On IRS Targeting,” Talking Points Memo, 6/5/13)
