LAKELAND, Fla. – As millions of Americans prepare to celebrate the nation’s independence on July 4, several hundred Central Florida families will enjoy a free holiday feast at the Independence from Hunger event sponsored by state Senator Kelli Stargel. Zephyrhills Brand 100% Natural Spring Water is honored to support this important community event, which will be held June 29 at Believer’s Fellowship Church in Lakeland.
“The generosity of the American people is strongest during the winter holiday season, but little is done to help struggling families during the most important summer holiday, Independence Day,” said Jeff Smatsky, factory manager at the Zephyrhills Brand bottling plant in Zephyrhills. “We are honored to partner with Senator Stargel to provide bottled water for families during this incredible event.”
Zephyrhills Brand is providing more than 1,800 half-pint bottles of natural spring water for the event to quench the thirst of families who will also enjoy a holiday meal.
“As we celebrate our nation’s independence, it’s important that we also help those working hard to secure their piece of the American dream,” said Senator Stargel. “The Independence from Hunger event is a meaningful way to provide that help and allow them to celebrate our country, too. I am deeply grateful to Zephyrhills Brand water for supporting this worthy event.”
The event begins at 10 a. m. and will be held at Believer’s Fellowship Church, 5240 North Socrum Loop Road in Lakeland. The Agape Food Bank is helping to coordinate donations for this event.
