Kissimmee – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding an open house concerning an upcoming construction project to widen approximately 1.8 miles of US 192 (State Road 530) West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway along the Orange/Osceola County border.
The project involves widening US 192 from four (4) lanes to six (6) lanes. The project limits extend from Bali Boulevard (Lake Co. line) to just east of Secret Lake Drive. The work also includes roadway reconstruction, rebuilding three (3) major intersections, milling and resurfacing, and installing a curbed median, sidewalks and a drainage system. Construction is set to begin September 3, 2013. The construction cost is $10.2 million, and the project lasts 345 days.
The open house is scheduled Thursday, August 29 at Lighthouse Key Resort and Spa, located at 8545 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy. It starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m., and project team members will be on hand to answer questions and review construction plans with meeting attendees.
