Examining Orange Avenue/State Road (SR) 527 from Sand Lake Road to Hoffner Avenue
Orange County – The second of two Orange Avenue corridor meetings gets underway next week as the planning study continues; focusing on opportunities to enhance multimodal travel within the corridor and provide better access to the new SunRail station currently under construction. The study covers Orange Avenue, from Sand Lake Road to Hoffner Avenue. The project is also being supplemented by Orange County through a regional Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Grant, which will be used to develop preliminary engineering concepts for one of the corridor segments between Parkline Boulevard to Lancaster Road.
The second meeting is Thursday, September 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Pine Castle Woman’s Club, 5901 S. Orange Avenue, Orlando FL 32809. This informational meeting hosted by FDOT will include a presentation providing an overview of the study, existing transportation conditions, and potential multimodal strategies/ideas currently being considered. The presentation will be followed by an open house where the study team will be available to answer questions and further gather public input.
