RE: William Happ Death Warrant
The attached letter was transmitted today to Warden John Palmer of Florida State Prison. It pertains to William Frederick Happ.
On May 24, 1986, Happ abducted 21-year-old Angela Crowley from a parking lot in Crystal River where she was making a call from a pay phone. Happ took the victim to the Cross Florida Barge Canal, where he brutally beat, sexually battered, and strangled her to death with her own clothes, and dumped her body into the canal. Several months passed before police connected Happ to the Crowley murder. By the time of his arrest, Happ had begun serving a prison sentence in California for an unrelated armed robbery and kidnapping.
The execution date has been set for Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 6 p.m. Attached is the transmittal letter as well as the death warrant.
