TALLAHASSEE–Senator Dwight Bullard (D-Miami) will hold a press conference tomorrow to talk about the status of human rights in Florida and bills expanding those rights pending in the current legislative session tomorrow.
“As we look at cases throughout our state and around the country, we’ve seen gut-wrenching examples in which the dignity and character of one’s life was somehow lost, “Senator Bullard stated. “To that end, it is essential that in the fight for human rights we continue to educate others on those rights and remain vigilant in protecting them.”
Wednesday will mark “Human Rights Day at the Capitol,” in which Senator Bullard will be joined by Gracia Bennish, President of United for Human Rights. The two will discuss the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its application to civil rights bills filed for the 2014 legislative session.
The press conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in the Capitol Rotunda in front of Senate Chambers from 11:15am- 11:30am.
