Governor Rick Scott Appoints Three to Florida State Retirement Commission

Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced two appointments and one reappointment to the Florida State Retirement Commission.

J. Layne Smith, 52, of Tallahassee, is the general counsel of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning March 25, 2014, and ending December 31, 2016.

Paul Zacks, 64, of Delray Beach, is an adjunct professor at Kaiser University. He is a retired chief assistant state attorney with the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning March 25, 2014, and ending December 31, 2015.

Priscilla Jackson, 56, of Pensacola, is a payroll and retirement manager with the City of Pensacola. She is reappointed for a term beginning March 25, 2014, and ending December 31, 2017.

The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
