Governor Rick Scott Appoints Three to
Halifax Hospital Medical Center Board of Commissioners

Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced one appointment and two reappointments to the Halifax Hospital Medical Center Board of Commissioners.

Thomas McCall, 46, of Ormond Beach, is the chief operating officer and chief financial officer of ICI Homes Inc. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning June 27, 2014, and ending May 23, 2017.

Karen Jans, 56, of Daytona Beach, is a consultant. She was previously an associate vice president at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and an assistant vice president at the University of Central Florida. She is a board member of Tiger Bay of Volusia and a member of the Halifax Civic League. Jans received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. She is reappointed for a term beginning June 27, 2014, and ending May 23, 2018.

Dr. John Johnson, 68, of Ormond Beach, is the president of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He is a member of the Association of Independent Technology Universities and the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Johnson received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Florida State University and his Ph.D. from Kent State University. He is reappointed for a term beginning June 27, 2014, and ending May 23, 2018.
