Mayor Rick Kriseman endorses Perry Thurston
St. Petersburg – Mayor Rick Kriseman endorsed Perry Thurston for Florida Attorney General Friday at the offices of the Pinellas County Democratic Party.
“Perry Thurston will be an Attorney General that puts the middle class first again,” said Kriseman. “I was proud to stand with him in the legislature to expand Medicaid, raise the minimum wage, and protect education. As Attorney General, I know he’ll put consumers ahead of special interests and citizens’ interests ahead of political interests.”
Kriseman was elected mayor in 2013 defeating Republican incumbent Bill Foster with 55% of the vote. Prior to being elected he served for six years in the Florida legislature and six years on the St. Petersburg city council.
Perry Thurston is a Democratic candidate for Attorney General of Florida. He is currently the Democratic Leader in the State House of Representatives. For more information, visit thurstonforflorida.com.
