FOR WEEK OF AUGUST 10, 2014

District One is 12 counties: Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands,
Lee, Manatee, Okeechobee, Polk and Sarasota

HARDEE COUNTY 

SR 636/Main Street at US 17: Maintenance permit/special event: SR 636/Main Street will close between northbound and southbound US 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, August 15 for the City of Wauchula’s  Back to School Tailgate party. Motorists should follow the established detour and use caution.

SR 64 from Pear Street to east of Cracker Trail (Zolfo Springs): Construction project: Traffic on SR 64, just east of US 17, is shifted north onto the new lanes. Watch for periodic lane closures as crews make repairs to the roadway. This is a drainage improvement project, which includes changing the elevation of the roadway in places. It also includes building a gravity wall to support the new roadway, installing new curb, gutters and guardrail and paving. 

SR 64 from US 17 to the Highlands County Line: Maintenance contract project: Crews are making drainage improvements. There are no anticipated lane closures.  Motorists should use caution while in the area and be aware of crews working along the shoulder of the roadway.

SR 64 from Griffin Road to Bailey Road: Maintenance contract project: Crews are lining pipes along the roadway. Motorists should expect daytime intermittent lane closures while crews are working. 

HIGHLANDS COUNTY 

US 27 from Lagrow Road to US 98: Maintenance project: Expect intermittent lane closures from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, while crews shape the ditches and shoulders along US 27. Work will continue through the end of August. Use caution and watch for trucks and equipment entering and leaving the highway.

US 27 from Highlands Avenue to Sebring Parkway: Maintenance project: Crews will be shaping the ditches and shoulders from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays. No lane closures are scheduled, but use caution and watch for trucks and equipment entering and leaving the highway. 

US 27 from Bramblewood Road to Martin Road:  Maintenance permit project: Expect intermittent northbound lane closures during the day while utility crews replace poles along the east side of US 27 through mid-August 2014. Motorists should use caution and watch for changes in the traffic pattern.

Lemon Avenue Railroad Crossing west of Raymond Street: Railroad crossing signal project: Use caution and watch for workers close to the road as crews install new flashing lights, gates, LEDs and signal house at the railroad crossing.  Expected completion is fall 2014. 

MANATEE COUNTY 

I-75 Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and Satellite Traffic Management Center: Construction project: Currently in 30 Day Operational Testing phase for fiber optics communications cable and transmission equipment, closed-circuit television cameras, and roadside sensors along 56 miles of I-75 from the Sarasota/Manatee County line (University Parkway) to the I-275 interchange in Manatee County (near mile marker 228). During the week of Sunday, August 10, 2014, the contractor will continue operational testing of ITS devices on northbound and southbound I-75 between mile markers 213 and 228. The contractor will also be installing concrete aprons around pull boxes. Motorists should anticipate shoulder closures for this work. Use caution while traveling through construction zones. Scheduled completion is summer 2014. The contractor is World Fiber Technologies, Inc. 

US 301 at 51st Avenue East: Maintenance permit project: Crews are resurfacing the roadway. The northbound and southbound lanes will close intermittently from 9 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. each morning Sunday, August 10 through Friday, August 15. Motorists should use caution and expect possible delays.

US 41/BUS 41 from 19th Avenue to 18th Avenue and 19th Avenue at 16th Street Court West: Construction project: Crews are making drainage repairs on US 41/BUS 41 and on 19th Avenue West. Estimated completion is summer 2014. Southern Road and Bridge, LLC is the contractor.

US 41 (Tamiami Trail) from the Sarasota/Manatee County Line north to 13th Avenue West: Maintenance contract project: Crews are working within the utility strips. Motorists should expect nighttime/overnight intermittent northbound and southbound outside lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through the end of August, weather permitting. Pedestrians should expect sidewalk closures/detours throughout the duration of the work. Motorists should use caution while in the area and expect possible delays.

US 41 (Tamiami Trail) from Mecca Drive North to Bowlees Creek: Maintenance contract project: Crews are inspecting and repairing drainage pipes. Motorists should expect intermittent northbound and southbound outside lane closures through the end of August, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution while in the area and expect possible delays.

US 41 at Moccasin Wallow Road:  Construction project: Crews continue stabilizing the turn lanes in preparation of paving and installing signalization equipment at US 41/Moccasin Wallow Road. Lane closures are in place during the day beginning Monday, August 11 through Friday, August 15. The right turn lanes on northbound and southbound US 41 will close from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and alternating through lanes will close from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anticipated lane closures will be in place through September 30. Work on this project includes new signals and signal back plates, extended turn lanes, new pedestrian features and upgrades to meet current ADA standards, addition of bike lanes at the right turn lanes, roadway lighting at the intersection, and pavement markings. Motorists should to use caution and watch for construction workers in the construction zone. Project completion is expected late 2014. The contractor is Traffic Control Devices, Inc.

US 41 between 30th Avenue and 28th Avenue: Maintenance permit project: Crews are constructing a driveway. The right northbound lane will close intermittently from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, August 15. Motorists should use caution and expect possible delays.

SR 789/Gulf Drive from SR 684 to 28th Street: Maintenance permit project: Crews are replacing a power pole. Motorists should expect northbound lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Friday, August 15.

SR 684/Cortez Road at the Cortez Bridge from east of Gulf Drive to west of 127th Street West: Construction project: Crews will work on the bridge surface and repair the eastbound sidewalk.  Crews will continue nighttime lane closures of the eastbound lanes (towards Cortez) from Sunday through Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.  Additionally, the eastbound sidewalk will remain closed for several weeks and pedestrians and bicyclists will use the westbound sidewalk.  Motorists should exercise caution during work and lane closures.  Work on this project includes general maintenance and repairs to the bridge span, beams, piling, seawall, and bridge tender house. Quinn Construction, Inc. is the contractor on this project. Expected completion is winter 2014/early 2015.

SR 684 from 103rd Street to 119th Street: Maintenance permit project: Crews are replacing power poles. The outside eastbound lane will close from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, August 15. Motorists should use caution while in the area and expect possible delays.

SR 684 at 106th Street: Maintenance permit project: Crews are repairing power poles. The eastbound right lane will close intermittently from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, August 15. Motorists should use caution and expect possible delays. 

SR 70 from CR 675 east to 245th Street: Maintenance contract project: Crews are cleaning ditches along the roadway. Intermittent eastbound and westbound daytime lane closures are expected. Motorists should use caution while in the area and expect possible delays.

SR 64 at Bayside Church: Maintenance permit project: Eastbound and westbound lane closures occur from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, August 22 while crews are working. Motorists should use caution and expect possible delays. 

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY 

US 441 (North Parrot Avenue) from 290th Trail to NW 344th Street: Maintenance project: Crews will repair concrete mitered end sections. There are no planned lane closures, but use caution and watch for workers close to the road.

US 98 from SR 70 to CR 68 (NW 160th Street): Maintenance project:  Crews will be repairing roadway shoulders. There are no planned lane closures, but use caution and watch for workers close to the road.

US 98 from SR 70 to NW 9th Street: Maintenance permit project: Crews will install gas mains along the roadway. There are no planned lane closures, but use caution and watch for workers close to the road.

SR 70 east of Okeechobee/NE 34th Avenue to Williams Road/NE 48th Avenue: Maintenance permit project: Crews are relocating utilities along the south side of the road. No lane closures are scheduled, but use caution and watch for workers close to the road.

POLK COUNTY 

I-4 from County Road 557 to the Osceola County Line:  Construction Project: Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday night, August 10 through Friday morning, August 15 while crews continue paving eastbound Interstate 4.  Drivers will merge from three to two lanes through the work zone.  Improvements on this project include removing the old asphalt and paving, installing guardrail and traffic monitoring site and placing signs and new pavement markings.  Expected completion date is spring of 2015. The contractor is Ranger Construction. 

I-4/SR 559 Interchange, Auburndale: Construction project: Crews will be mobilizing construction equipment, installing silt fence and construction signs. Project improvements include constructing a new bridge on SR 559 over I-4, expanding SR 559 from two lanes to four lanes, shifting the eastbound lanes of I-4 to the south, installing lighting on SR 559, resurfacing the existing roadway, and improving drainage. Expected completion is early 2017. The contractor is Cone and Graham.

US 98 from CR 540A to SR 540 (Winter Lake Road): Construction project: Crews will continue installing pipe and drainage structures, curb, gutter, light pole bases, grading and placing sod, working on turn lanes, driveways, paving and constructing bridges over Banana Creek. Expect northbound and/or southbound lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Work on this project includes expanding the roadway from four to six lanes, upgrading traffic signals, installing street lighting, adding pedestrian signals and crosswalks, constructing new sidewalk, and new bridge construction over Banana Creek. US 98 from Daughtery Road to West Socrum Loop Road/West Hall Road: Construction project: Crews are installing sidewalk, drainage pipe and structures during the day, and preparing shoulders for widening at night. Contractor may shorten turn lanes during the day. Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Use caution and watch for changes in the traffic pattern. Work on this project includes removing and replacing the asphalt, adding northbound left turn lanes at various median openings between Fox Lake Drive and Thomas Road, extending right turn lanes at Marcum Road, Duff Road, Banana Road and West Oak Drive, adding bike lanes and shoulder on both sides of US 98, constructing sidewalk and upgrading bus stops. Weather permitting; expected completion is the end of 2014. The contractor is Lane Construction.

US 98 at Lakeland Central Park Center: Maintenance permit project: Work on this project includes adding a southbound left turn lane, modifying the sidewalk and moving the light pole box on the east side of US 98. Motorists should use caution and watch for intermittent nighttime lane closures while crews construct the southbound turn lanes and work in the northeast corner of the intersection. Pedestrians should follow the posted detour signs around the sidewalk closure on the east side of US 98.

US 92 (Memorial Boulevard) at North Brunnell Parkway: Maintenance permit project: Crews will begin removing eight existing driveway entrances, sidewalk and curb and reconstructing two new driveway entrances, sidewalk and curbs. Expect intermittent eastbound lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Use caution while traveling in the area, and watch for changes in the traffic pattern. 

US 92 at US 98: Construction project: There are no lane closures scheduled this week while crews work on underground utilities and rework the northeast corner. Be aware of the new traffic pattern in place for westbound motorists on US 92 turning north onto US 98.  Traffic on US 92 will now have to stop at the intersection before making the turn. This is a permanent change as crews have removed the pedestrian island. Use caution while motorists get used to the new traffic pattern. Work on this project includes removing the pedestrian island, widening the turn lane, resurfacing the intersection and upgrading the signals. Weather permitting, expected completion is the end of 2014. The contractor is Lane Construction.

US 92 (E. Memorial Boulevard) at Palmer Road: Maintenance permit project: Expect intermittent lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Work on this project includes constructing a left turn lane, reconstructing two driveway entrances, installing inlets and connecting pipe. Use caution and watch for changes in the traffic pattern.

US 92 at West Pierce Street: Maintenance permit project: Expect intermittent northbound daytime lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. while crews build a driveway entrance and sidewalk. Use caution and be prepared to stop.

US 27 from US 98 to West County Line Road: Maintenance project: Crews are cleaning ditches along both sides of this four-lane roadway through the end of August. Motorists should use caution when traveling in this area.

US 27 North of Camp Inn Resort Entrance: Maintenance permit project: Expect intermittent daytime lane closures from 9 am to 4 pm. Work on this project includes constructing a southbound left turn lane, northbound right turn lane and driveway entrances, installing inlets and connecting pipe. Use caution and watch for changes in the traffic pattern.

US 27 from Ritchie Road to south of Barry Road:Construction project: Temporary intermittent lane closures are in effect during the daytime and nighttime on northbound and southbound US 27 starting Sunday, August 10 through Saturday morning, August 16, while crews pave US 27, pending weather. Daytime closures will have a minimum of two lanes open northbound and southbound. Nighttime closures will have a minimum of one lane open northbound and southbound. Watch for uneven pavement and traffic shifts and be cautious of workers in the work zone.  Work on this project includes expanding US 27 from four lanes to six lanes, resurfacing the existing roadway, adding paved bike lanes, building curb and gutter with drainage swales, constructing sidewalk, upgrading existing traffic signals at Waverly Barn Road/Dunson Road and Deen Still Road/Ronald Reagan Parkway, installing new highway lighting at Deen Still Road/Ronald Reagan Parkway, and installing sound barrier walls. Southland Construction is the contractor on this project. Expected completion is fall of 2014.

US 27 from Barry Road to US 192 (Davenport/Clermont): Construction project: Traffic shifts are in place on the ramps at US 27/US 192. These shifts will remain in place through fall of 2015. The contractor is working at nighttime/overnight from 6 p.m. Sunday, August 10 to 7 a.m., Monday morning, August 11 paving the westbound US 192 ramp to southbound US 27 and the southbound US 27 ramp to eastbound US 192 Improvements on this project include expanding US 27 and the bridge at US 192 from four lanes to six lanes, resurfacing the existing roadway, adding paved bike lanes, building curb and gutter with drainage swales, constructing sidewalk, installing new concrete pole traffic signals at the intersections of US 27/California Boulevard and US 27/Student Drive, and installing sound barrier walls. Prince is the contractor on this project. Expected project completion is summer 2016. 

US 17/92 at Kinny Harmon Road: Maintenance permit project. Crews will remove muck and place surcharge (extra soil) on the southeast corner of US17/92 and Kinny Harmon Road.  No lane closures are scheduled, however, use caution and watch for workers close to the road.

SR 659 (Combee Road) from US 98 to Ralph Road: Maintenance contract: Crews will be repairing the roadway shoulders during the day. No lane closures are expected, but use caution and watch for workers close to the road. The contractor is Environmental Land Development Inc. Expected completion is mid-August 2014.

SR 659 (Combee Road) from north of Ralph Road to south of SR 33 in Lakeland: Construction project: Motorists should expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews continue to remove the old asphalt, work on the shoulders, sod and pave. Watch for flaggers directing traffic and be prepared to stop. Work on this project includes removing the old asphalt and paving the roadway and shoulders, improving drainage and replacing mailboxes. Expected completion is fall of 2014. The contractor is Preferred Materials, Inc.

Recker Highway (CR 655) just north of Commercial Boulevard: Maintenance permit project: Expect intermittent daytime lane closures with flaggers directing traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. while crews widen the roadway for a right turn lane, construct a driveway, and install guardrail. Use caution and be prepared to stop.

SR 546 between Kettles Avenue and Texas Avenue D: Maintenance permit project: Crews will continue reconstructing two existing driveway entrances, sidewalk and curb. Expect intermittent westbound lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Use caution while traveling in the area, and watch for changes in the traffic pattern. 

SR 544 at Idylwild Drive: Maintenance permit project: Crews will remove and replace the existing sidewalk and curb on the northwest corner of the intersection and reconstruct a driveway entrance, sidewalk and curb gutter. Expect intermittent westbound lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours of 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Use caution while traveling in the area and watch for changes in the traffic pattern.

SR 540 (Cypress Gardens Boulevard) from Overlook Drive to US 27: Construction project: Crews will continue constructing sidewalk and installing pipe, drainage structures, curb, gutter and guardrail during the day and paving at night. Motorists should expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Work on this project includes resurfacing, extending turn lanes, adding paved shoulders, upgrading traffic signals, installing lighted street signs and street lighting at signalized intersections, adding pedestrian signals and crosswalks at various intersections, repairing and constructing sidewalk, replacing guardrail at the bridges, and adding, replacing and cleaning drainage pipes. The contractor is Middlesex Corporation. Weather permitting; estimated completion by the end of 2014.

SR 540 east of State Farm Entrance: Maintenance permit project: Work on this project includes constructing a right turn lane, driveway entrance and sidewalk on the north side of the roadway. No lane closures are scheduled. Use caution while traveling in the area. 

SR 60 bridge over US 27: Bridge inspection: Watch for intermittent eastbound lane closures while crews perform routine bridge inspection from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, August 18. 

SR 60 from SR 17 to 11th Street: Maintenance contract project: Watch for east and westbound lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., beginning Monday night, August 11 through Friday morning, August 15. The lane closures are necessary while crews repair curb inlets.  Use caution and watch for changes in the traffic pattern.

SR 60 from west of Saddlebag Lake Road to east of Sam Keen Road: Construction project: Motorists should watch for daytime lane closures both east and westbound on this four-lane roadway while crews continue excavating, trenching and street light construction. Use caution and watch for changes in the traffic pattern. Work on this project includes adding streetlights to both sides of this four-lane roadway. Traffic Control Devices, Inc. is the contractor. Expected completion is fall of 2014.

SR 60 at Hunt Brothers Road: Maintenance permit project: Work on this project includes constructing sidewalk and curb ramps on the east side of the roadway. No lane closures are scheduled. Use caution while traveling in the area. 

SR 37 (South Florida Avenue) from Young Place to Palmola Street: Construction Project: Expect nighttime/overnight inside lane closures both north and southbound from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday night, August 11 through Friday morning, August 15. The lane closures are necessary while crews pave around the new pedestrian islands and raised medians and replace sidewalk and curb both north and southbound. Watch for workers close to the road during the day while crews work on utilities near the intersections with John Church Lane, Edgewood Drive, Pablo Street and Oak Street. Work on this project includes adding pedestrian islands and raised medians on South Florida Avenue, replacing curb and gutter, reconstructing sidewalk and curb ramps and installing concrete pads at bus stops.

SR 37 (South Florida Avenue) from CR 540A to Carter Road:  Maintenance permit project: Expect intermittent northbound lane closures while crews install underground gravity sewer line along the east side of South Florida Avenue. Use caution and watch for changes in the traffic pattern.

SR 17 (S. 10th Street) from SR 544/CR 544 to US 17/92 (Hinson Avenue) in Haines City: Construction project: Northbound SR 17 (S. 10th Street) remains closed to all traffic between SR 544/CR 544 and US 17/92 (Hinson Avenue). Follow posted detour signs.  The detour will be in place until spring 2015.  Crews continue underground utility work, earthwork, grading, concrete curb and gutter installation, and will begin paving from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. During this project, crews will replace the roadway base and pavement, widen travel lanes, and rework the center turn lane to include raised medians and median crossovers, replace existing drainage and add sidewalk and decorative street lighting. Estimated completion is summer 2015. The contractor is Prince Contracting, LLC. 

6th Street NE from Avenue A NE to Avenue C NE and 4th Street SE from Avenue K SE to Avenue C SE: Construction project: Crews will continue clearing the right of way of debris and pouring sidewalk and driveways on 4th Street SE and 6th Street NE. Expect lane closures with flaggers directing traffic during the day. Use caution and prepare to stop. This is a Safe Routes to School project that includes adding sidewalk on both sides of 6th Street NE and 4th Street SE, installing wheel chair-accessible ramps with ADA compliant pads at the side street intersections, constructing curb and gutter, and adding pedestrian crossings, signs and pavement markings at various locations. Estimated completion is summer of 2014. The contractor is Purifoy Construction, LLC.

North Parkway Frontage Road from South Florida Avenue to Waring Road: Construction Project: Crews will be working on signals during the day and paving at night. Watch for nighttime/overnight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., starting Sunday night, August 10 through Saturday morning, August 16, weather permitting.

Crews will close the Polk Parkway WESTBOUND Harden Boulevard exit and entrance ramps from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday night, August 11 through Tuesday morning, August 12. Polk Parkway motorists traveling westbound should exit at South Florida Avenue and stay on the North Parkway Frontage Road to reach Harden Boulevard. Motorists entering the Polk Parkway WESTBOUND in this area should stay on the North Parkway Frontage Road and enter at Waring Boulevard.

Work on this project includes resurfacing the roadway, reconstructing sidewalk and curb ramps in various locations, installing detectable warning surfaces on all sidewalk ramps, installing traffic detection cameras to control the signals at Waring Road, Harden Boulevard and Underpass Road, replacing the signal equipment at Underpass Road and installing concrete pads at bus stops. Estimated completion is the end of 2014. The contractor is Preferred Materials, Inc.

South Parkway Frontage Road from Pipkin Creek Road to Underpass Road (including Underpass Road): Expect day and/or night lane closures starting Wednesday, August 13 through Saturday, August 16 while crews remove the old asphalt and pave the South Parkway Frontage Road.

Crews will close the Polk Parkway EASTBOUND Harden Boulevard exit and entrance ramps from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Wednesday night, August 13 through Thursday morning, August 14 for paving. Polk Parkway motorists traveling eastbound should exit at Waring Road, head south on Waring Road then east on Drane Field Road to reach Harden Boulevard. Motorists entering the Polk Parkway EASTBOUND in this area should remain on the South Parkway Frontage Road, turn north on Underpass Road, head east on the North Parkway Frontage Road, and south on South Florida Avenue to enter the Polk Parkway on the east side of South Florida Avenue.

Work on this project includes resurfacing and installing traffic detection cameras to control the signals at Harden Boulevard. Estimated completion is the end of 2014. The contractor is Preferred Materials, Inc.

West Pipkin Road at Old Hwy 37: Construction project: Expect nighttime lane closures with flaggers directing traffic at the intersection of West Pipkin Road and Old Highway 37.  The lane closures are necessary as crews repair broken concrete, and install a new traffic separator on West Pipkin Road from South Florida Avenue to just past Old Highway 37. The new traffic separator will prevent illegal left turns from eastbound West Pipkin Road onto northbound Old Highway 37. Use caution and be prepared to stop. Weather permitting; crews will complete this work in one week. The contractor is Florida Safety Contractors. 

SARASOTA COUNTY

SR 780/Fruitville Road, SR 758/Bee Ridge Road and SR 72 between I-75 and US 41: Maintenance contracts project: Crews are making concrete repairs to inlets and curbing. Motorists should expect intermittent northbound and southbound nighttime/overnight lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through the end of August.

I-75: From Sumter Boulevard to River Road: Construction project: This project expands I-75 to six lanes. Crews are performing earthwork activities and placing drilled shafts for high mast lighting. Workers continue bridge widening and jack and bore operations for installation of drainage. Drivers should pay attention to traffic signs and barricades throughout the construction project, stay alert, and use caution in the work zone. Estimated completion is summer 2016. The contractor is Conalvias USA. 

I-75 at Jacaranda Boulevard and Laurel Road: Construction project: Crews are installing new highway lighting at the Jacaranda Boulevard and Laurel Road interchanges. No lane closures are expected. Motorists should be aware of trucks entering and exiting the highway. Estimated project completion is summer 2014. Conti Corporation is the contractor.

US 41 at Salt Creek and the Myakka River: Construction project: Crews are installing erosion control materials beneath the bridge. There will be minimal impact to marine traffic and no anticipated lane closures.  Expected completion is fall 2014. Coastal Gunite Construction Co. is the contractor. 

US 41 at SR 789: Maintenance permit project: The sidewalk located along the west side of US 41 from SR 789 to Ritz Carlton Drive and sidewalk located along the north side of SR 789 from Sunset Drive to US 41 will close on Monday, August 4. The sidewalks will remain closed until construction of the development located at the corner of US 41 and SR 789 is complete. Pedestrians should follow the established detour.

US 41 From University Parkway to the Manatee County line: Maintenance contracts project: Crews are performing sidewalk/driveway/curb ramp repairs northbound and southbound on US 41 between University Parkway and the Manatee County line.  Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day Monday, August 11 through Monday, August 25. Use caution while in the area.

SR 72/Stickney Point Road at Swift Road: Construction project: Crews are resurfacing the roadway, making drainage improvements and replacing mast arms. Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Weather permitting; completion is summer 2014. Preferred Materials, Inc. is the contractor.

SR 780 (Fruitville Road) from Honore Avenue to US 301: Maintenance contract project: Crews are inspecting and repairing drainage pipes. Motorists should expect daytime intermittent eastbound and westbound outside lane closures through the end of September, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution while in the area and expect possible delays.
