National Association for Campus Activities Appoints Croft to Board of Directors

The National Association for Campus Activities recently appointed Dr. Lucy Croft, associate vice president for Student Affairs at the University of North Florida, to serve on its board of directors. Her term began in May and lasts for one year.

Croft, an Atlantic Beach resident, serves as the Board Liaison to the NACA Research and Scholarship Committee, which was established to set the research agenda for the association and implement scholarly projects in support of campus activities and student engagement.

She has been a long-time NACA volunteer and has assisted in numerous association leadership roles since 1993. She served as co-chair of the National Symposium for Leadership for three consecutive years, directed the national NACA convention as the convention chair in 2003, served as commission chair for Student Leadership Development and on the Education Advisory Committee, just to name a few.

In addition to her role as associate vice president for Student Affairs, Croft has also served as an adjunct professor in the College of Education and Human Services at UNF, teaching courses in organization/leadership and higher education administration. In addition, she has written a number of articles and chapters for professional publications, such as Campus Activities Programming and Women’s Business.

Throughout her career, she has earned several awards, including the 2013 NACA Outstanding Diversity Achievement Award – Individual for her work as a proactive advocate for diversity education and the promotion of campus culture, NACA Outstanding Commission Project Manager Award, Forty Under 40 Award, Rising Star Award, Outstanding Young Woman of America and more.

Croft earned a doctorate in education, curriculum and instruction and a master’s degree in community counseling, both from the University of Cincinnati, as well as a bachelor’s degree in communication and elementary education from Hanover College.
