RIVERVIEW MAN CLAIMS $3,000,000 FLAMINGO FORTUNE TOP PRIZE
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Lottery announces that John Opliger, 35, of Riverview, claimed a $3 million top prize in the $3,000,000 FLAMINGO FORTUNE Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. Opliger chose to receive the winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $2,334,291.85.
Opliger purchased his winning $3,000,000 FLAMINGO FORTUNE Scratch-Off ticket from Publix, located at 18901 State Road 54 in Lutz. The retailer will receive a $6,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The $20 Scratch-Off game, $3,000,000 FLAMINGO FORTUNE offers more than $150 million in total cash prizes. One of six $3 million top prizes remain to be won. The overall odds of winning are one-in-2.94.
Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, comprising approximately 64 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $640 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2013-14.
