Shoulder Work and Other Improvements on US 441 in Lake & Orange Counties
Lake County – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises users of US 441, within the cities of Mount Dora and Zellwood, to be on the lookout for construction work starting August 19, 2014. The project limits extend on US 441 from west of Willow Street in Orange County to just south of State Road (SR) 44 in Lake County, a distance of approximately seven miles.
The improvements under this contract consist of the creation of paved shoulders, installation of audible pavement markings, bus pad construction and drainage work. The contractor is D.A.B Constructors, Inc. The contract amount is $651,000. The estimated completion will be late fall 2014.
Motorists and other travelers along US 441 in both counties should expect lane closures during active work periods. Up to date information about road blockages and/or detours will be posted to the Central Florida FDOT web site at www.cflroads.com.
Weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances could alter work schedules.
