Adkins’ strong ties to the Westside solidifies support
for Fant in the last week of the campaign.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Today, State Representative Janet Adkins officially endorsed the campaign of Jay Fant for State House, District 15.

State Representative Janet Adkins stated: “Westside of Jacksonville is where I was raised and is a place many of my family members call home. I believe that Jay Fant shares our Westside values and will stand firm against the special interests.”

“The decisions we make in Tallahassee have a direct effect on working families and small business owners here at home. I trust Jay Fant to stand up against big government bureaucrats and to take on the special interests. Jay Fant is a family man and business leader that will get the job done!”

Adkins then added: “Jay Fant is a straight shooter and will tell you the truth. These are the reasons why I am supporting his campaign for Florida House of Representatives.”

State Representative Janet Adkins is a 5th generation North Floridians, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was raised in Marietta on the Westside of Jacksonville. Janet graduated from Trinity Christian Academy as valedictorian and went on to attend Florida Community College of Jacksonville and received her MBA from the University of North Florida. Representative Adkins worked 12 years as a technology consultant for a Jacksonville company before being elected to the Nassau County School Board in 1998. She was also the Republican State Committeewoman for Nassau County from 2000 to 2012, serving on numerous committees for the Republican Party of Florida. After being elected in 2008 to the Florida House of Representatives where she serves as Chair of the House K-12 Education Committee, she has been a forceful voice for reform and currently represents North Florida from the 11th District which includes all of Nassau County and portions of Duval County including the Northside, Mayport, and the Beaches.

About Jay Fant for State Representative
Jay Fant’s strong ties to Jacksonville began when his grandfather’s family moved to the city in 1920. Jay’s father and grandfather have been local business and civic leaders, with both having served in elected office. In 1947, the family started First Guaranty Bank, one of the oldest banks in the city. In 1994, Jay was elected to serve on the board and led the company with his father through 2012. Jay has done much to continue the family tradition of investing in the community. He has been involved with many different organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Healthy U Now Foundation, Rotary, and the Florida Bankers Association. Jay and his wife, Lauren, have two sons and two daughters. They attend St. Johns Presbyterian Church. In his spare time, he coaches little league baseball and basketball.
