Senator Audrey Gibson Receives 2014 Senator of the Year Award from PACE Center for Girls, Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE – State Senator Audrey Gibson (D-Jacksonville) has been named 2014 “Senator of the Year” by PACE Center for Girls, Jacksonville. The award was presented to her on August 25, 2014.
“I am extremely honored to receive this award,” said Senator Gibson. “It is easy to support the work of my local PACE and PACE Centers around the State because of the great proven work they do.”
PACE Center for Girls, Jacksonville is located in Duval County and was founded in 1985. Since opening, PACE Jacksonville has served over 3,000 girls. PACE accomplishes its goals through three distinct components: Academic, Social Services and Transition Services. PACE values all girls and young women, believing each one deserves an opportunity to find her voice, achieve her potential and celebrate a life defined by responsibility, dignity, serenity and grace. Each year during the legislative session, PACE Centers from around the state “Rally in Tally” to call attention to the need for programs targeted to girls.
“PACE provides girls and young women an opportunity for a better future and I am happy to play a part.” Senator Gibson said.
