SOUTHERLAND CAMPAIGN RELEASES NEW TV AD: “ADVOCATE”
PANAMA CITY, FL – Steve Southerland released a new campaign ad today, titled “Advocate.” The 30-second spot will air in the Panama City and Tallahassee media markets highlighting Southerland’s record of fighting for women, including his vote extending the Violence Against Women Act. The ad features Erica Price, a Northwest Florida mother of two daughters who, herself, was a victim of domestic abuse.
“As the father of four daughters, fighting for the safety and wellbeing of women isn’t about politics for me,” said Southerland. “It’s about doing the right thing and ensuring women have every opportunity to achieve their dreams. That’s why I voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, crack down on military sexual assault, and bring an end to sex trafficking of women and children. Women who are victims of these terrible crimes deserve our support, not political gamesmanship.”

Erica Price: Our congressman, Steve, is advocating for things like Violence Against Women Act.
Erica: I have daughters, and I’m real concerned for their safety at all times.
Erica: At the age of 17, I was a victim of a very violent domestic act.
Erica: And I know that justice does not always prevail without the right advocates.
Erica: And to me, Steve is an advocate. He’s not a politician. He advocates for the district.
Steve Southerland: I’m Steve Southerland and I approve this message.
