JUPITER, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott recognized the following individuals with the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award:
- John Kujawa, Founder and President of Lumitec Lighting (Delray Beach)
- Daniel Cane, CEO and Co-Founder of Modernizing Medicine (Boca Raton)
- Charlie Isiminger, President of Isiminger and Stubbs Engineering (North Palm Beach)
The Governor’s Business Ambassador Award is given to individuals and businesses in recognition of their efforts to create jobs and opportunities for Florida families.
Governor Rick Scott said, “Florida businesses have added almost one million new jobs in less than five years and the job creators we are recognizing today are helping Florida’s economy grow. Last week, I was proud to announce my proposal to cut $1 billion in taxes to grow our manufacturing industry and help Florida small businesses further diversify our economy. I am honored to recognize these three businesses for their work creating jobs and look forward to their future success here in Florida.”
Lumitec is a product development company that is focused on the development and manufacturing of LED lighting. The company was founded in 2007 and their products are manufactured in the USA. Lumitec employees 40 Floridians, including nearly a dozen engineers, and is one of the fastest growing manufacturing companies in the U.S.
John Kujawa, Founder and President of Lumitec Lighting, said, “Lumitec strives to deliver products of exceptional value to our great customers, and Florida has provided us with the supportive location we need to grow. Modernizing Medicine provides physicians with a cloud-based electronic medical records system called the Electronic Medical Assistant. CEO Daniel Cane was named 2015 EY Entrepreneur of the Year, 2013 Sun Sentinel Excalibur Awards Palm Beach Small Business Leader of the Year and honored as a Palm Beach County Ultimate CEO by the South Florida Business Journal. Since founding the company in 2010, Cane has led his team to raise over $85 million in funding and to employs about 300 Floridians.
Daniel Cane, CEO and Co-Founder of Modernizing Medicine, said, “At Modernizing Medicine, we help doctors get work done faster. Through this award, Governor Scott is showing that every business matters, and we are honored to share the growth of our company and our hardworking team with him today.”
Isiminger & Stubbs Engineering, Inc. was founded in 1992, and provides consulting engineering services, specializing in coastal, environmental, and marine design and permitting. The company is located in North Palm Beach and employs eight Floridians, with plans to grow in the future.
Charlie Isiminger, President of Isiminger and Stubbs Engineering, said, “I am excited to represent the Isiminger and Stubbs Engineering team today and accept Governor Scott’s Business Ambassador Award. We have experienced steady growth in Florida and thank the Governor for making it a priority to support business growth across the state.”
