Governor Charlie Crist‘s campaign for Florida’s 13th Congressional district on Wednesday released TV and radio ads featuring President Barack Obama.
President Obama, who endorsed Governor Crist in June, encourages Pinellas County residents to elect to Congress “a public servant who has always put the people first.” The 30-second TV spot entitled “Opportunity” and 60-second radio spot entitled “Friend” both begin airing today on Tampa-market cable, broadcast, and radio stations.
The TV ad can be viewed here, and scripts can be viewed below:
“Opportunity” (TV): This year, the voters of Pinellas County have an opportunity to elect a public servant who has always put the people first: Charlie Crist. As Governor, he worked with both parties to get things done. And I know you can trust Charlie to do the same in Congress. He’ll fight to protect Social Security and Medicare, defend women’s healthcare and Planned Parenthood, and take care of our veterans. Charlie needs your vote. Please stand with him. I know he’ll always stand with you.”
“Friend” (Radio): “This is Barack Obama. This year, the voters of Pinellas County may have an opportunity to elect a public servant who has always put the people first. Someone who’s honest, and trustworthy. A truly dedicated public servant, who always has my back, and yours: my friend, Charlie Crist. He was known as the People’s Governor, because that’s who he always fought for — the people. He took on the utility companies that overcharged you, cut property taxes and saved the jobs of 20,000 teachers. Charlie got things done. And if you send him to Congress, he’ll work with both parties to get results for Pinellas County. He’ll fight to protect Social Security and Medicare, defend a woman’s right to choose and Planned Parenthood, and he won’t let anyone privatize the VA. Charlie needs your vote, so on November 8th, please stand with him. I know he’ll always stand with you.”
