Alex Sink For Governor: Two Minutes

October 13, 2010 Politics Comments Off

The response to our two-minute ad has been amazing.

Now we have to make sure more Floridians see it. It’s airing in Tampa tonight, so today’s goal is to also get it running in Jacksonville — one of the most hotly contested areas in the state.

We need to raise $12,000 today to buy the TV time. And I need your help to make it happen. Please contribute now at:

Sink for Governor: One Million Dollars

October 7, 2010 Politics Comments Off

Friend,

Yesterday, Zogby released a poll that shows us leading Rick Scott by 2 points! We’re leading with independents and we’re leading with moderates. And that’s only possible because I have supporters like you.

This week we can pass a major milestone and break the $1 million mark in online contributions, something that has never been done in a gubernatorial campaign in Florida. Right now, we’re less than $10,000 away.

Floridians have united behind our campaign because we are all committed to the future of Florida. And we know Rick Scott cannot be trusted to build the Florida we want to see.

Contribute $5 now and help us reach $1 million.

I’m going to continue counting on you to make sure we keep getting out the truth.

Tomorrow, I’m holding my first of three debates with Rick Scott – this one is the Spanish-language debate on Univision. I will make sure Floridians hear about my plans to move our state forward. And when Rick Scott doesn’t tell the truth about his shady past and his unrealistic plans, I will call him on it.

We have too much at stake, and your support is critical.

Thank you for all that you’re doing.

Alex Sink For Governor:60,000

September 27, 2010 Politics Comments Off

After spending at least $50 million of his own money to win the Republican nomination, Rick Scott has written his campaign a check for another $1.1 million so he can air even more dishonest TV attacks against me.

When I was asked about it over the weekend, I said point blank that our grassroots effort will beat his check-writing.

This week, we’re going to prove it.

Since I entered the race last year, supporters like you have made almost 57,000 contributions. Today, we set a goal of reaching 60,000 by the end of the week.

Contribute $5 right now to help reach our goal of 60,000 contributions by the end of the week.

The Mason Dixon poll released at the end of last week showed me leading Rick Scott 47 to 40. I’ve been able to hold the lead because supporters like you have stepped up to make sure our message reaches Floridians on TV, in the field and online.

Democrats, Republicans and Independents are united behind our campaign. What’s united us is that we all know the future of our state is at stake and, frankly, that it’s too important for anyone to sit on the sidelines while Rick Scott tries to buy this election.

Thank you for everything you’re doing for Florida.

Alex Sink

P.S. Please forward this email to your family and friends. We need everyone to contribute $5 if we’re going to reach 60,000 contributions by the end of the week.

- Providing Fraudulent Documentation to State Sends South Florida Man to Jail –

TALLAHASSEE—Florida CFO Alex Sink today announced the arrest of Kenneth Feldman, 62, founder of Suncoast Physicians Health Plan, Inc., on one first-degree felony charge for filing false financial statements with the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR). “When insurance companies become insolvent, their policyholders are at extreme risk of not having their claims paid,” said CFO Sink.  “I commend the work of my Divisions of Insurance Fraud and Rehabilitation and Liquidation, as well as the Office of Insurance Regulation, and I hope this arrest serves as an example to all that we will not tolerate acts of insurance fraud in this state.” … Continue Reading

Alex Sink for Governor: Rick Scott Lost on Election Day.

September 23, 2010 Politics Comments Off

Friend,

Rick Scott lost on the Primary Election Day. He won early on largely because of Vote by Mail. Yes, Vote by Mail is that important.

Counties across the state have already started sending out Vote by Mail Ballots for the General Election. We know Alex has the grassroots support, and this is the first way we can put our money where our mouth is and start getting votes. It’s easy and anyone can do it.

Today we launched a tool that makes Voting by Mail easier than ever. We need supporters like you to sign up — and then send this message to your family and friends so they can Vote by Mail too.

Click here to request your Vote by Mail ballot now.

Once you get your ballot, you can send it back immediately and your vote will be counted. When the totals start coming in, and the reporters and pundits see that we’re closing the Vote by Mail gap, they’ll know just how strong Alex’s support is.

Thank you for all that you’re doing,

Jim Cassady
Campaign Manager

P.S. If you’re on Facebook, tell your friends to sign up to vote by mail at:

Alex Sink For Governor: $60

September 21, 2010 Politics Comments Off

We’re on the air with three new TV ads across Florida thanks to your generous support. But Rick Scott’s attack ads keep coming.

We’re going to do everything we can to respond. And a big part of that is going door to door and talking directly with voters.

This weekend volunteers are taking part in 70 events across the state, and we need to make sure they have the tools to succeed. For all the clipboards, flyers, and water they need, it costs about $60 for twenty volunteers to go door to door and reach 1,000 voters. That means for every $6 we raise, 100 people will hear Alex’s message.

Can you contribute $6 to help us reach 100 voters? Click here to contribute right now.

As Nate said yesterday, we need this kind of one on one contact to make sure voters see the strength of Alex’s grassroots support and hear the truth about her record, instead of the bold faced lies that Rick Scott is perpetuating on TV.

But with more than 12 million registered voters in Florida, we need an army of volunteers if we’re going to win. And they need the tools to get Alex’s message out, sign people up to vote by mail, and lay the groundwork to get out the vote on Election Day.

Contribute today and make sure our volunteers have the tools they need to connect with voters.

Whether its $6 to reach 100 voters or $60 to reach 1000 voters, you’ll be playing your part to make sure Floridians know there is a clear choice in this election.

Thank you,

Jim Cassady
Campaign Manager

MEMORANDUM: Joint Letter from Governor Charlie Crist and Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink to Ken Feinberg

September 16, 2010 Government Comments Off

Please find the attached letter from Governor Charlie Crist and Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink to Ken Feinberg, claims administrator for the Deepwater Horizon Compensation Fund, requesting immediate action be taken to address the concerns Floridians have regarding the BP oil spill claims process.

The letter emphasizes the need for the claims process to become seamless and simple, including completing individual claims within three to five days and relying on the federal Oil Pollution Act of 1990 as the standard for evaluating all claims. The letter additionally requests the claims process be modified so that average citizens and small businesses alike can file claims without the help of legal counsel.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please call Governor Crist’s press office at (850) 488-5394, or call Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink’s Office at (850) 413-2842.

Alex Sink for Governor: Fox News Poll

September 15, 2010 Politics Comments Off

Fox News released a poll yesterday showing me ahead of Rick Scott 49-41 percent.

You heard me right — it’s a Fox News poll. That’s the good news.

The bad news is the attack ads are well underway. Rick Scott, the Republican Governors Association, and Republican Party of Florida, are all running misleading TV ads attacking me.

They know my plans to grow our economy and improve our schools are resonating with voters. And they have decided that the only way they can make Rick Scott Governor is to malign me.

We have come too far and worked too hard to let their attack machine prevail. We are in this fight together and I need your help now more than ever.

Please contribute $10 or whatever you can today at:

http://www.alexsink2010.com/fightback

This Fox News poll is the third major poll this month that has me leading, and they all show the same thing. Independent voters support my campaign because they’re sick of Scott’s partisan attacks — they’re ready for a leader focused on Florida’s challenges who will lead with integrity.

I know we’ve asked a lot of you lately, which is why I’m so grateful for your support thus far. And time after time, you’ve come through.

Today I need you to dig down deep to make sure we have the resources to respond to those nasty attacks that are only meant to blunt our momentum.

Anything you can do to help out today is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

CFO Alex Sink Again Calls On The Florida Legislature To Help Small Businesses Impacted By Oil Spill

TALLAHASSEE — Florida CFO Alex Sink today issued the following statement after reviewing the final report by the House of Representatives’ work groups regarding the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill:

“I continue to be shocked by the inaction of the Florida Legislature when the people of Northwest Florida are still suffering severe economic losses,” said CFO Alex Sink. “Many small businesses are struggling because of the disaster in the Gulf, yet the Florida Legislature has decided that there is nothing that needs to be done to help them.
