August 25, 2010 Politics Comments Off

Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp released the following statement:

“I have called Pam Bondi to congratulate her on her victory tonight.  Ms. Bondi ran a great campaign and I wish her the best of luck in the general election.  I told her we need a Republican to remain Attorney General.”

“We ran the best campaign we could and I’m encouraged by all of the support we received. Cyndie and I thank all of the people who voted for me tonight.  For their support, I will be eternally grateful.”

“I look forward to supporting the Republican slate of candidates in November.  Too much is at stake this election cycle to sit on the sidelines and do nothing.”

Jeff Kottkamp for Attorney General: Independent Statewide Polls Shows Jeff Kottkamp Leading In Race For Attorney General

August 19, 2010 Politics Comments Off

TALLAHASSEE– A new statewide poll of likely Florida voters shows Jeff Kottkamp with a significant 7 point lead in the race for the Republican nomination for Attorney General.

The poll conducted on behalf of Sunshine State News shows that for the first time, a candidate in the race is leading outside the margin of error.

“With just five days before the primary, this poll shows Lieutenant Governor Kottkamp has the momentum headed into Election Day. Undecided voters in this race have significantly narrowed and most of those Floridians have moved toward Jeff Kottkamp,” said Rockie Pennington, Kottkamp Campaign General Consultant. “It’s clear voters want someone with a proven record of experience instead of someone who just talks about what they’ll do in office.” … Continue Reading

Jeff Kottkamp For Attorney General: Bondi’s Explanation Not Credible

August 16, 2010 Politics Comments Off

Jeff Kottkamp for Attorney General Consultant Rockie Pennington released the following statement in response to Pam Bondi’s suspended belief response regarding her support of Card Check.

“Pam Bondi’s response that she didn’t understand the question and ‘confused the terms’ in regards to her support of union Card Checks is hard to swallow. In her own words, she thanked the caller for calling, said it was a broad question and then gave a very detailed response opposing the secret ballot for workers voting to unionize.”

“In a moment of candor where she abandoned her programmed talking points, Bondi showed her true colors – she’s a Democrat who had an election year conversion in order to run as a conservative.  Except for union bosses who are looking for more dues paying members, there isn’t any right-minded American who believes the secret ballot is a bad thing.  Her own words speak values and no double talk explanation after the fact can ever take those away. Pam Bondi stands with the union bosses and against small business.”

Listen to her own words.

Jeff Kottkamp For Attorney General: Pam Bondi Breaks with Florida & U.S. Chamber on Top Issue; Supports Union-Backed Card Check

August 16, 2010 Politics Comments Off

TALLAHASSEE – The self-proclaimed “pro-business” candidate running for Attorney General announced over the weekend that she supports a key component of organized labor’s push for a union Card Check. Appearing on Orlando radio station WDBO, Pam Bondi announced that she was against providing a secret ballot for workers voting for or against unionizing.

Taking a question from a caller that asked about her position on unions, Bondi said: “…I’ll tell you with the unions, I am totally against the secret ballot. We cannot have the secret ballot.  Everything has to be public, the votes have to be public, we have to have transparency to make sure everything is on the up and up…”

Bondi’s statement is contrary to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s position on card check legislation pushed by big labor.  According to the Chamber, “by forcing workers to sign a card in public – instead of a vote in private – Card Check opens the door to intimidation and coercion.”  (http://www.uschamber.com/issues/index/labor/cardchecksecrbal.htm)

“Pam Bondi is showing her Democratic roots by supporting organized labor over small businesses across this state,” said Kottkamp Campaign General Consultant Rockie Pennington. “I knew she was a life-long Democrat, but she claims to be a conservative now.  The more we learn about the real Pam Bondi, the more we discover she’s not who she claims to be.”

Conservative Icon Phyllis Schlafly Endorses Jeff Kottkamp for Attorney General

August 12, 2010 Politics Comments Off

TALLAHASSEE – Eagle Forum founder, pro-family leader, conservative columnist and constitutional attorney Phyllis Schlafly today announced her endorsement of Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp to be Florida’s next Attorney General.

“Jeff is exactly the kind of leader we need in state government,” said Mrs. Schlafly.  “He has a proven record as a public official who stands for  effective fiscal and social conservative principles. The November election may be the most important election of our times.  Our country is at a crossroads and I believe we must elect conservatives who will guide us in the right direction.  Floridians have a great opportunity to do that by voting for Jeff Kottkamp and electing him as Florida’s next Attorney General.”

Mrs. Schlafly, who was named one of the 100 most important women of the 20th century by Ladies’ Home Journal, is considered a legend in the conservative political movement. She’s authored more than 20 books, hosts a nationally syndicated weekly radio show and founded the Eagle Forum – a leading national pro-family organization.

“I am humbled and very thankful to receive the endorsement of the Eagle Forum and Phyllis Schlafly, the matriarch of the modern day conservative movement in our country,” said Lt. Governor Kottkamp. “It’s easy to call yourself a conservative but my pro-family, pro-life and pro-second amendment record speaks for itself. Mrs. Schlafly’s endorsement verifies my conservative credentials and I greatly appreciate her support.”

Jeff Kottkamp is the clear conservative choice running to be Florida Attorney General.  He’s backed by 75% of Florida’s Republican sheriffs, the Police Benevolent Association, Florida Fraternal Order of Police, Florida Right to Life PAC and several social conservative leaders in the state.  He’s also earned an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association – the highest ranking given by the NRA.

Jeff Kottkamp Campaign Unveils New TV Commercial

August 9, 2010 Politics Comments Off

~Commercial Highlights Kottkamp’s Commitment to Protecting Our Freedoms~

TALLAHASSEE – With early voting for the Republican Primary starting today and Election Day just 15 days away, the Jeff Kottkamp for Attorney General Campaign today began airing its latest commercial on television and cable stations across Florida. The commercial highlights Lieutenant Governor Kottkamp’s commitment to protecting our constitutional rights and continuing Florida’s fight against Obamacare.

“I am the only Republican candidate for Attorney General who has ever taken-on the federal government in court and won,” said Lt. Governor Kottkamp. “That experience is essential as we fight the federal government on its growing and troubling intrusion into our daily lives. Our constitutional freedoms are at stake and I am ready to lead the charge on behalf of every Floridian.”

The television commercial can be seen online at http://www.jeffkottkamp.com.

Transcript of the commercial:

Jeff Kottkamp: My record of fighting crime is very clear. But just as important is the oath that I will take to protect your constitutional rights.  I will fight to protect your safety and your freedom. It’s time we draw a line in the sand and say to the Obama Administration – enough is enough; the Constitution means what it says; we will not allow our rights to be trampled or our freedoms to be taken away.

Announcer: Jeff Kottkamp – Law Enforcement’s choice; the Conservative Republican choice; your choice.

Because of his unquestioned legal and conservative credentials, Lt. Governor Kottkamp is law enforcement’s choice to be Attorney General. He’s been endorsed by the Florida Police Benevolent Association, the Fraternal Order of Police and 21 of 28 Republican Sheriffs. Kottkamp is also the social conservative choice for Attorney General – winning support from the Florida Right to Life PAC. He has also been endorsed by community and elected leaders throughout Florida including five members of Congress and 40 legislators – more than any other candidate in the race.

Jeff Kottkamp For Attorney General: Lt. Governor Kottkamp Calls on Florida to Intercede in Gay Marriage Ruling

August 6, 2010 Politics Comments Off

TALLAHASSEE– Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp today called on Attorney General Bill McCollum to involve the State of Florida in the appeal of a federal court ruling that strikes down a ban on gay marriage in California’s Constitution. With an appeal likely headed to the United States Supreme Court, Lt. Governor Kottkamp says Florida has a vital interest in protecting a similar provision in our state’s constitution.

“Wednesday’s ruling in California turns on its ear more than 5000 years of recorded history that establishes marriage is between a man and a woman,” said Lt. Governor Kottkamp. “We must intervene in the appeal of this ruling to protect a similar constitutional amendment approved by nearly 62% of Floridians in 2008. When liberal judges try to rewrite the Constitution, we as citizens have an obligation to push back in the appropriate way. The framers of the Constitution would have never envisioned the 14th Amendment being blatantly distorted to attack traditional marriage.”

Jeff Kottkamp is considered the social conservative’s choice to be Florida’s next Attorney General because of his strong, proven record of fighting for families.

“Jeff Kottkamp’s leadership in fighting for traditional family values is why he’s won the support of Florida’s social conservatives,” said John Stemberger, Chairman of the Social Conservatives for Kottkamp Coalition. “Nothing is more vital to our social order than marriage and we applaud Lt. Governor Kottkamp for calling on the state of Florida’s involvement in reversing the shocking court ruling by another liberal federal judge.”

Lt. Governor Kottkamp has won support in his campaign for Attorney General from Florida Right to Life PAC, Dennis Baxley – former President of the Florida Christian Coalition, Bob Touchston – former President of Florida Right to Life, Pam Olson – President, Florida Prayer Network & Bush/Cheney Florida Social Conservative Chair and many more social conservative leaders.
