The Miami Springs mayor is the latest Miami-Dade official to throw his support behind Diaz’s candidacy for the Florida Senate
The Manny Diaz Campaign today announced the endorsement of Miami Springs Mayor Billy Bain. Diaz has represented District 103 in the Florida House of Representatives since 2012 and is seeking the District 36 seat in the state senate. Bain joins a growing list of Miami-Dade elected officials, including seven other mayors, who have endorsed Diaz in recent weeks.
“There is no question in my mind that Diaz’s record makes him the best choice for this Senate seat,” said Bain. “He has dedicated his career to serving his community, in education and in the Florida House, and I know we can count on him to deliver the kind of strong leadership we need in the Florida Senate.”
Bain is a local businessman who was elected Mayor of Miami Springs last year.
“I’m proud to have Mayor Bain’s support,” said Diaz. “Serving as mayor is not easy, and I’m grateful for the public service of Mayor Bain and all the mayors supporting our campaign. I look forward to continuing to work with all of them as we serve our friends and neighbors in our communities.”
In addition to Bain, Diaz has also been endorsed by several other Miami-Dade elected officials including Mayor Spencer Deno IV of Virginia Gardens; Mayor Francis Suarez of the City of Miami; Mayor Carlos Hernandez of Hialeah; Mayor JC Bermudez of Doral; Mayor Yioset De La Cruz of Hialeah Gardens; Mayor Manny Cid of Miami Lakes; and Mayor Roberto Martell of Medley.
