Overdorf adds Port St. Lucie Vice Mayor Shannon Martin to the growing list of local leaders backing his run for the District 83 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.
The Toby Overdorf Campaign today announced the endorsement of Port St. Lucie Vice Mayor Shannon Martin. Overdorf, a Republican, is running for the District 83 seat in the Florida House of Representatives, currently held by Gayle Harrell, who faces term limits this year. Martin joins several other local elected officials in endorsing Overdorf, including Congressman Tom Rooney, Port St. Lucie Councilmembers Stephanie Morgan and John Carvelli, Martin County Commissioner Doug Smith, and Stuart City Commissioner Troy McDonald.
“I am very happy to endorse Toby Overdorf for the Florida House,” said Martin. “Toby will bring his strong leadership skills and drive to better our community to the Legislature. I’m confident that he will look out for our best interests in Tallahassee, and I look forward to working with him.”
Martin has held the District 3 seat on the Port St. Lucie City Council since being elected in 2010. She serves on the St. Lucie Transportation Planning Organization and the St. Lucie County Fire District Board of Directors. She is a strong advocate for the Port St. Lucie business community.
“I’m honored to have Vice Mayor Martin on our team,” said Overdorf. “Her leadership on economic development in our community has been pivotal, and I look forward to working with her and other local leaders to continue to strengthen our economy.”
Overdorf is a longtime Treasure Coast resident and business owner, running on a platform of pro-growth economic policies that promote job creation, greater economic prosperity, and the completion of necessary environmental restoration projects.
