State’s performance funding investment to help UF continue its rise in national stature

Posted on June 28, 2018

$110 million in state performance funding for 2018-19

The University of Florida will receive more than $110 million in state performance funding for the 2018-19 fiscal year, an investment that it will use to continue its efforts to raise its national stature and become a top-five public research university. The money includes a state allocation of more than $57 million, which represents a $2.5 million increase over the previous year.

Performance funding is based on an evaluation by the Board of Governors for each of the state universities to reward improvement or excellence in areas that benefit students, families and taxpayers, including graduation and retention rates, as well as cost to the student.

Out of a possible 100 points, UF earned 93, the highest score of all the 12 public universities.

“UF’s performance has been recognized by the state’s performance funding system and we are glad to have continued support that has brought UF to the top ten, and that it will further assist our goal to become a top-five public university,” said UF President Kent Fuchs.
