Motorists should be advised there will be an overnight ramp closure this week for eastbound Sand Lake Road to northbound Kirkman Road in Orlando.
During the nighttime closure, traffic needing to access northbound Kirkman Road will be directed to continue east and U-turn at Greenbriar Parkway, then exit Sand Lake Road using the westbound ramp for northbound Kirkman Road (see attached map).
The purpose of the ramp closure is to allow the contractor to perform bridge work.
Electronic message boards have been installed to inform motorists about the ramp closure, and detour signs will guide traffic.
The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen and reconstruct State Road (S.R.) 482/Sand Lake Road from west of International Drive to east of Florida’s Turnpike.
Please note the work schedule may change due to weather or other unexpected conditions. Project updates will be posted to the FDOT’s Central Florida website.
Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at 386-943-5479 or [email protected].
FDOT advises drivers to slow down and use extra caution in construction zones.
