Blacklidge Endorsed by Fraternal Order of Police

Posted on July 31, 2018

Ray Blacklidge praises Florida’s law enforcement community and looks forward
to working with them to further strengthen public safety in the Sunshine State.

The Ray Blacklidge Campaign today announced the endorsement of the Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). The FOP strives to promote law and order in addition to fostering unity among law enforcement officers in the state of Florida. Blacklidge, a Republican, is running for the District 69 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.

“I am very proud to be endorsed by the FOP,” said Blacklidge. “The men and women of Florida’s law enforcement community are vital to the quality of life we enjoy here. Each and every day, their courage and sense of duty allows the rest of us to carry out our responsibilities in peace and safety. I’m honored to have their support, and I look forward to working with them on strengthening public safety in Florida.”

The Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police has been representing law enforcement officers in Florida for over 60 years and currently serves over 20,000 members. The FOP rigorously advocates for police officers while striving to enhance the faith of the public in their dedicated servants.

Blacklidge, a Republican, has an extensive background as an entrepreneur and consumer advocate and currently works as an insurance executive, owner, and general counsel. House District 69 covers the south Pinellas beach communities from Redington Shores to Fort DeSoto, as well as portions of St. Petersburg, Gulfport, Kenneth City, and Pinellas Park. With 36 percent of the district’s voter registration, Republicans maintain a slight lead over the Democrats’ 35 percent. Independents and minor parties make up 29 percent of the district.
