Ocala man claims top prize playing new $1,000,000 MONOPOLY™ JACKPOT Scratch-Off game

Posted on August 1, 2018

The Florida Lottery announces that James Earley, 42, of Ocala, claimed one of eight $1 million top prizes in the new $1,000,000 MONOPOLY JACKPOT Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.

Earley purchased his winning ticket from Quick King Food Store, located at 8955 Southwest Highway 200 in Ocala. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.

The $5 game, $1,000,000 MONOPOLY JACKPOT, launched on July 2. “The MONOPOLY Scratch-Off games are my favorite, and I was so excited when they were available in stores,” Earley said. “I love playing, but I never imagined I would actually become a millionaire!”

$1,000,000 MONOPOLY JACKPOT offers more than $91 million in prizes, including eight top prizes of $1 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-3.98.

Scratch-Offs are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, generating more than $871 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in FY 2017-18, and comprising approximately 69 percent of ticket sales.
