Shannon Elswick Tops all candidates from both parties
in the House District 32 South Lake Hob Nob Straw Poll.
The Shannon Elswick Campaign today announced his victory in the South Lake Chamber of Commerce Hob Nob straw poll held at the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center last night. Among the three Republicans and two Democrats in the race, Elswick took more than one third of the straw poll votes with 34.5 percent.
“I’ve been in Lake County for many years, and the voters of District 32 know me,” said Elswick. “The folks here know my commitment to our community and to the conservative principles of lower taxes, economic growth, and the protection of our constitutional rights. I appreciate everyone who came out to the Hob Nob and the Chamber for putting on such a great event, and I look forward to continuing to campaign hard to take our conservative values to Tallahassee.”
The South Lake Hob Nob is a bipartisan event held every two years that gives voters a chance to interact personally with political candidates and cast their votes in a straw poll. In the District 32 straw poll, the two other Republican candidates took second and third place while the two Democrats came in fourth and fifth.
