Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart, Chancellor of K-12 Public Schools Hershel Lyons, Executive Vice Chancellor Jacob Oliva and Safe Schools Director Damien Kelly have been visiting schools throughout Florida and thanking local leaders for their hard work and dedication to ensuring Florida students are safe. They met with superintendents, principals, members of law enforcement and those who are operating under the Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program and wished them well for a safe and successful school year.
“It has been an honor to visit with local leaders while they begin preparing for a new school year,” said Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart. “There is nothing more important than making sure our schools are safe, and the department is committed to working with school districts to ensure the safety of Florida’s students and teachers. The start of a new school year is always an exciting time for everyone, and I look forward to working together toward our goal of Florida being the best place in the world to receive a great education.”
