“Despite allegations of Russians plotting to interfere in Florida’s
elections, Levine is cozying up to a top Trump Russian donor(s).”
Greene = Not a penny of corporate special interest money
Levine = should return $500,000 from Russian billionaire
Democratic gubernatorial candidate and entrepreneur Jeff Greene today called for Phil Levine to return $500,000 from a Russian billionaire whose donations to Trump are being probed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
Greene outlines Levine’s Russian money ties and that Greene is the only candidate who stood up to Trump well before the gubernatorial race in his two newest campaign ads.
“Philip Levine should return every penny of the $500,000 in political contributions from the Russian billionaire and “oligarch” whose donations to Trump are being investigated by Mueller,” said Greene. “Despite allegations of Russians plotting to interfere in Florida’s elections, Levine is cozying up to Trump’s Russian donors. I’m proud to be the ONLY person in this race who is not taking a dime of corporate special interest money. When I get to Tallahassee, the only interest I’ll serve is the public interest.”
Levine took $500,000 from Russian billionaire Len Blavatnik‘s company. In addition to Blavatnik’s contributions to Trump being investigated by Mueller, his business was blacklisted by the U.S. Treasury and his partner paid tens of millions of dollars to disgraced Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.
This is only the latest in a series of comparisons voters have made between Trump and Levine, which include Russian money ties, bullying scientists, attacking critics on Twitter, and referring to unfavorable stories as “fake news”.
Despite recent campaign ads indicating otherwise, Levine has had positive things to say about Trump – saying “the President has done a very good job” in a FOX News Radio interview six months into Trump’s presidency.
“Phil Levine and Trump are one and the same,” Greene said. “Evidently, Phil’s one of Putin’s Puppets, too.”

About Jeff Greene
Greene entered the Governor’s race on June 1, launching a campaign to offer a breakthrough voice and vision for Florida after polls revealed most Democratic voters remained undecided. Greene comes from humble beginnings – the struggling busboy-turned-successful entrepreneur attended public schools, worked three jobs throughout college, lived essentially out of the back of his Pontiac Grand Am selling circus tickets across the country, and took out student loans to get through college and Harvard Business School. He is running for Governor to give every family in Florida the same tools and opportunities to succeed that he had. Greene is focused on transforming public education and providing access to comprehensive pre-kindergarten for all 3- and 4-year-olds. He will stand up to Trump’s divisive rhetoric and dangerous policies, as seen in two of his recent television ads – one of which features video of Greene and Trump in a confrontation at a Trump property. Florida Democrats understand Greene’s unique ability to spend whatever it takes to go toe-to-toe with what have been overwhelmingly better-funded Republicans in the general election. Jeff Greene is poised to regain Democratic control of the Governor’s office for the first time in 20 years, without being beholden to any special interest groups whatsoever.
