LeadingAge Florida honored six representatives of member communities during its 55th Annual Convention and Exposition held at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, July 29 – August 1, 2018.
“These award recipients are the best of the best senior living professionals and volunteers in Florida, and they work tirelessly to ensure their residents receive the best possible service and care,” said Steve Bahmer, LeadingAge Florida President and CEO. “It is our honor to recognize each of them. They inspire everyone they touch with their commitment to helping older adults live fully as they age.”
The capstone of the Convention was the presentation of the Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award to Steve Protulis, CEO of Elderly Housing Development & Operations Corporation, Fort Lauderdale, for his more than three decades of work in providing affordable housing for seniors.

- Executive of the Year—Caridad Vinas, Canterbury Tower, Tampa
- Service Coordinator of the Year—Maria Haley, Villa San Carlos
- Caregiver/Employee of the Year—Mary Ann Ociesa, Village On The Isle, Venice
- Trustee of the Year—James Bogner, Westminster Communities of Florida
- Volunteer of the Year—John Lefebvre, Westminster Suncoast, St. Petersburg
