Secretary of State Ken Detzner Launches Resources to Help Floridians Get Ready. Get Set. Vote!

YourVoteFlorida.com and 2018 Voter Education Toolkits
help voters prepare to 
exercise their right to vote

Secretary of State Ken Detzner today announced the launch of YourVoteFlorida.com and the 2018 Voter Education Toolkits to help Floridians Get Ready. Get Set. Vote! in the 2018 elections. YourVoteFlorida.com contains key election-related information including important dates to remember, information on registering to vote, ways to vote and other helpful resources. The 2018 Voter Education Toolkits, which can be used by voters or by stakeholders to provide information to voters, includes checklists for voter registration, social media content, graphics and Quick Facts for the Primary and General Election.

“It is critically important that all eligible voters in Florida have the information they need to fully participate in the electoral process for the 2018 Primary and General Elections,” said Secretary Detzner. “The information and resources provided on YourVoteFlorida.com and in the 2018 Voter Education Toolkits will help voters prepare to exercise their right to vote.”

The toolkits for the Primary and General Election are located on the Division of Elections website and the department’s voter-focused website YourVoteFlorida.com.

The toolkits consist of:

  • A poster featuring checklists for new Florida voters and registered Florida voters;
  • A rack card featuring checklists for new Florida voters and registered Florida voters;
  • Graphics and banners for social media that use the Department’s brandedGet Ready. Get Set. Vote! voter education campaign;
  • Social media posts that can be adapted for an individual or organization’s use; and
  • Quick Facts about the Primary Election and General Election.

The 2018 Voter Education Toolkits and YourVoteFlorida.com are also available in Spanish.

About ‘Get Ready. Get Set. Vote!’
In 2018, the Department of State is leading an effort to help educate voters through its Get Ready. Get Set. Vote! campaign which provides key voting-related information and resources in one central location on YourVoteFlorida.com. The webpage features important voter registration and voting information and is also available in Spanish.

About the Division of Elections
The Florida Department of State’s Division of Elections supports the Secretary of State, Florida’s chief election officer, in ensuring that Florida has fair and accurate elections. The Division’s three bureaus: Bureau of Election Records, Bureau of Voter Registration Services, and Bureau of Voting Systems Certification, have several responsibilities in the areas of legal compliance and elections administration to ensure that Florida’s election laws are uniformly interpreted and implemented. The Division also assists local Supervisors of Elections in their duties, and promotes enhanced public awareness and participation in the electoral process.
