Governor Rick Scott today announced Timothy Niermann will become the Secretary of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice on an interim basis. He will be replacing Secretary Christina Daly who is leaving the agency effective August 31, 2018, after serving at DJJ since 2006.

Governor Scott said, “I am proud to announce that Timothy Niermann will become the interim secretary at DJJ. I am confident that he will continue to faithfully serve the families and youths that DJJ works to protect every day.”

Since December 2015, Timothy has served as the deputy secretary of DJJ. Previously, he served as Assistant Secretary for Probation & Intervention Services, the DJJ Central Regional Director for Probation & Community Intervention, and from 2000 to 2010, he served as the DJJ Chief Probation Officer (CPO) for Circuit 6, serving Pasco and Pinellas counties. Mr. Niermann is a 40-year veteran of Florida State government and his expertise covers operational oversight of juvenile justice programming.
