Starting next week in St. Cloud, eastbound and westbound U.S. 192 (State Road 500) traffic will move to the newly paved outside lanes, allowing the contractor to begin work in the median. The traffic shift will take three nights to complete, weather permitting. The schedule is as follows:

  • From 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, eastbound traffic will move to the outside lanes between Old Canoe Creek and Neptune roads.
  • From 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, westbound traffic will move to the outside lanes between Commerce Center Drive and Brown Chapel Road.
  • From 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, westbound traffic will move to the outside lanes between Brown Chapel Road and Robinson Street.

Do not attempt to cross the median (construction zone) in undesignated areas. Please proceed to the nearest median opening and make a U-turn as needed.

Electronic message boards have been installed to inform motorists about the traffic shift. Please note construction schedules may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to widen U.S. 192 from Aeronautical Drive to Budinger Avenue.

Schedule updates are available on the FDOT Central Florida website, CFLRoads.com.

Media inquiries should be directed to the FDOT Communications Office at 386-943-5479 or [email protected].
