The University of North Florida is ranked among the nation’s top universities in The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings 2019, a ranking of nearly 1,000 U.S. colleges and universities that puts student success and learning at its heart.
“National rankings like this one recognize the University’s commitment to our excellent students and the excellence of our faculty and staff,” said UNF President David Szymanski.
The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings is drawn from 15 individual performance metrics, grouped into four pillars representing resources (finance per student, faculty per student), engagement (student interaction and subject breadth), outcomes (graduation rate, salary, reputation and loan default), and environment (international students, student/faculty diversity and student inclusion).
Data sources include the Times Higher Education U.S. Student Survey of 100,000 current U.S. students and the Times Higher Education Academic Reputation Survey of 10,000 scholars, along with public data on areas including completion rates and graduate employment. Here’s a list of the full rankings.
Unlike traditional competitors, the WSJ/THE College Rankings data team has built these rankings around a huge survey of 200,000 college students, which provides unique insights into the impacts of teaching, learning and student life on campus.
This latest recognition comes on the heels of UNF receiving several other national designations, including Forbes 2018 Best Value College, U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 “Best Online Programs,” Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s “Best College Value of 2018,” 2018 “Best in the Southeast” by Princeton Review, 2018 “Best Regional” University by U.S. News & World Report, 2018 “Best Colleges” by College Factual, to name a few.
