Governor Rick Scott Announces Multiple Appointments and Reappointments to Florida’s Judicial Nominating Commissions

Governor Rick Scott announced the following appointments and reappointments to Florida’s Judicial Nominating Commissions.

Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission

Heather Stearns, of Tallahassee, is Vice President, Government Relations at Liberty Dental Plan of Florida. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and her law degree from the Florida State University College of Law. She is appointed for a term ending July 1, 2020.

Fourteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission

Anthony Waylon Graham, of Panama City, is a self-employed. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida and his law degree from Cumberland School of Law. Graham is appointed for a term ending July 1, 2019.

Twentieth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission

Aaron A. Haak, of Fort Myers, is board certified in business litigation and construction law and is a shareholder with Knott Ebelini Hart. He received his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. Hack is reappointed from a list of nominees submitted by the Florida Bar for a term ending July 1, 2022.

Andrea P. Smith, of Ft. Myers, is a partner with Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz, P.A. She received her bachelor’s degree from Edgewood College and her law degree from Marquette University Law School. Smith is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by the Florida Bar for a term ending July 1, 2022.

Seventeenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission

Vivian H. Fazio, of Ft. Lauderdale, is the founder and president of the Law Offices of Vivian H. Fazio, P.A. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. Fazio is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by the Florida Bar for a term ending July 1, 2022.

Alice K. Sum, of Pembroke Pines, is a shareholder with Fowler White Burnett, PA. She received her bachelor’s degree and her law degree from the University of Florida. Sum is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by the Florida Bar for a term ending July 1, 2022.

William G. McCormick of Parkland, is a shareholder with Gray Robinson. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law. He is reappointed for a term ending July 1, 2022.
