Gov. Scott Appoints Ed Sabin to Health Care District of Palm Beach County
Governor Rick Scott today announced the appointment of Ed Sabin to the Health Care District of Palm Beach County.
Ed Sabin, 66, of Tequesta, is the chief operating officer of Southern Implants North America, Inc. Sabin received his master of business administration from the University of Central Florida. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning October 5, 2018, and ending September 30, 2022.
Gov. Scott Appoints Mike Carroll to Marjory Stoneman
Douglas High School Public Safety Commission
Governor Rick Scott today announced the appointment of Mike Carroll to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission within the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Carroll, 57, of Pinellas is the Executive Vice President with Lutheran Services of Florida.Previously, he served as Secretary of the Department of Children and Services for the past four years and has also served in multiple capacities within the agency since 1990.
Carroll received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College and is a former member of the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet. Carroll has previously served on this commission in his role as Secretary of the Department of Children and Services.
Gov. Scott Appoints Three to the Miami-Dade County Court
Governor Rick Scott today announced three appointments to the Miami-Dade County Court.
Luis Perez-Medina, 58, is an Assistant State Attorney at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. He received both his bachelor’s degree and law degree from Florida International University. Perez-Medina fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Dawn V. Denaro.
Christine Bandin, 39, of Coral Gables, is a partner at Shutts & Bowen LLP. She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and law degree from the University of Miami. Bandin fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Andrea Ricker Wolfson.
Raul A. Cuervo, 63, of Miami, is an attorney and shareholder at Carlton, Fields, Jorden, Burt, P.A. He received both his bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Florida. Cuervo fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Renatha Francis.

Governor Rick Scott today announced the appointment of Darrell R. Hill to the Hendry County Court.
Hill, 54, of Labelle, is an attorney with Darrell R. Hill, P.A. and a magistrate for the 20th Judicial Circuit. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from Samford University. Hill fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Scott Cupp.
