The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) today announced that all meetings scheduled for this week, October 8-12, 2018, have been canceled due to Hurricane Michael’s expected landfall in the Big Bend area on Wednesday.
The hearing on Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) request to charge FPL rates to former City of Vero Beach customers and for approval of FPL’s proposed accounting treatment for the purchase of the Vero Beach electric utility has been continued for 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018. Public comment/testimony will be taken at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The technical hearing will continue on Friday, October 19, if needed.
Items scheduled for consideration at the PSC’s October 11 Commission Conference will be considered at the Tuesday, October 30, 2018 Commission Conference, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Two meetings have been rescheduled for Monday, October 29, 2018:
- The Ten-Year Site Plan Workshop to discuss Florida’s electric utilities’ system upgrades and modifications to maintain adequate reliability over the next ten years, and
- The hearing to consider Tampa Electric Company’s petition to approve its second solar base rate adjustment (SoBRA), covering five solar projects that total 260 MW.
These two meeting times have not yet been determined.
