SAFETY ALERT: Widespread Outage of Verizon Wireless Service in Bay County

Posted on October 11, 2018

Florida Chief Financial (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis alerts Floridians and anyone with friends, family, and loved ones in the Bay County and Panhandle areas impacted by Hurricane Michael, that Verizon Wireless has widespread outages and those with the service are likely unable to be reached.

CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, “My main focus is saving lives and the safety of those recovering and responding in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael. Citizens with family and friends in the Bay County and other areas severely impacted by the storm should not panic if they can’t reach their loved ones. Verizon Wireless has massive outages. People in the area must stay off the roads and wait to hear from loved ones. Listen to local emergency officials and obey all curfew orders. Do not risk your life.”
