Current multi-state Jackpot series has generated $48 million for education
Players have a chance to win big this week as America’s dueling jackpots, MEGA MILLIONS® and POWERBALL®, continue to climb, reaching a combined total of $999 million. On Friday, the MEGA MILLIONS jackpot rolled to $654 million; the POWERBALL jackpot rolled to $345 million after Saturday night’s draw. Florida had more than 279,000 winners from the MEGA MILLIONS and POWERBALL drawings this past weekend.

POWERBALL jackpots start at $40 million and roll until the jackpot is won. Players win by matching the five white ball numbers (1-69) and the red POWERBALL (1-26). There are eight other ways to win non-jackpot prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million or up to $2 million if the ticket includes Power Play. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are approximately one-in-24.87.
