PSC Hearing on FPL/Vero Beach Accounting Issues begins Thursday

The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will begin a hearing on Thursday, October 18, 2018 on Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) request to charge FPL rates to former City of Vero Beach customers and for approval of its proposed accounting treatment for the purchase of the Vero Beach electric utility. Last week’s scheduled hearing was canceled because of Hurricane Michael.

The Commission will pause the hearing to receive public comment/testimony beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at the following time and location:

Thursday, October 18, 2018
9:00 a.m.
Betty Easley Conference Center
Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148)
4075 Esplanade Way
Tallahassee, Florida

In addition, Friday, October 19, 2018, is reserved to continue the hearing, if needed. The starting time for this session will be announced at the conclusion of day one.

The hearing will be broadcast on the Florida Channel (check your local listing) and is available online at floridapsc.com (look for the Watch Live Broadcast” icon on the left side of the webpage).
