Hurricane recovery would not be possible without chainsaws, and thanks to Jerry Pate Company, Jerry Pate Design and Mark DeShetler with Florida Outdoor Equipment, Florida Forest Service teams now have 64 additional chainsaws and power fuel – at no cost – to help them assist Floridians by clearing debris.
“When a natural disaster strikes, we not only see great tragedy, but also we see great generosity. I thank Jerry Pate and Mark DeShetler for their generous donations of chainsaws. It’s exactly this spirit of one Floridian helping another that makes our state so great,” stated Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam.
The Florida Forest Service, a division within the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, currently has more than 400 personnel working around the clock to help Floridians rebuild, and 155 of those people are sawyers.
