Nightly closures of WB I-4 at S.R. 408 scheduled November 2-4

Posted on November 2, 2018

WB I-4 on-ramps also closed from Colonial Drive, Amelia Street & South Street

Westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from Colonial Drive (State Road 50) to State Road (S.R.) 408 is closing from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, November 2 into Saturday, November 3, and on Saturday, November 3 into Sunday, November 4.

Motorists must exit westbound I-4 onto westbound Colonial Drive, and then travel southbound on Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 17-92/441) to re-enter westbound I-4. Law enforcement officers will be monitoring each signaled intersection on the detour route of Colonial Drive and Orange Blossom Trail to promote traffic flow.

The westbound I-4 entrance ramps from westbound Colonial Drive, Amelia Street and South Street will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on November 2-3 and November 3-4. The westbound I-4 entrance ramps from Kaley Avenue and Gore Street will remain open during these closures. The closures are necessary for work on the S.R. 408 bridge over westbound I-4.

View or download a handout of detour routes for these closures at: fdot.tips/wbi4closure.

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.

The I-4 Ultimate project is rebuilding 21 miles of Interstate 4 (I-4) from west of Kirkman Road in Orange County to east of State Road 434 in Seminole County, adding two new dynamic tolled Express Lanes in each direction, replacing more than 140 bridges, reconfiguring 15 major interchanges and reconstructing the entire roadway.
