Gov. Scott Appoints Seven to Multiple Early Learning Coalitions
Governor Rick Scott today announced one reappointment and six appointments to multiple Early Learning Coalitions across the state.
Early Learning Coalition of Duval
Marcus Rowe, 38, of Jacksonville, is a resident director and vice president at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. Rowe fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018 and ending April 30, 2021.
Early Learning Coalition of Manatee
Adam Mohammadbhoy, 46, of Bradenton, is an attorney with Harllee & Bald, P.A. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and his juris doctorate from Stetson University. Mohammadbhoy succeeds Howard Veltz is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018 and ending April 30, 2021.
Early Learning Coalition of the Nature Coast
Darla Huddleston, 67, of Bushnell, is an entrepreneur. She received her bachelor’s degree from Lee College and her master’s degree from the University of Tennessee. Huddleston succeeds Robert Wardlow and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018 and ending April 30, 2021.
Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando
Jacob Horner, 29, of Odessa, is the senior manager of government affairs with WellCare Health Plans. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Florida State University. Horner fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018 and ending April 30, 2021.
Early Learning Coalition of Santa Rosa
Anna Weaver, 49, of Pace, is the vice president of United Bank. Weaver fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018 and ending April 30, 2021.
Early Learning Coalition of the Southwest
Victor Mraz, 37, of Fort Myers, is a financial advisor with Blue Chip Financial of Southwest Florida. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Barry University. Mraz fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018 and ending April 30, 2021.
Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region, Inc.
Monesia Brown, 46, of Tallahassee, is the director of public affairs and government relations of the east for Walmart. She received her bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University and her juris doctorate from the University of Wisconsin. Brown is reappointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018 and ending April 30, 2021.
Governor Scott Appoints Ten to the Circuit and County Courts
Judges appointed to the Fifth, Seventh, Eleventh, Fourteenth and Seventeenth Circuit Courts and to the Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach County Courts
Governor Rick Scott today announced ten appointments to multiple Circuit and County Courts.
Alexander Bokor is appointed to the Eleventh Circuit Court. Bokor, 40, of Miami, is a Miami-Dade County Court Judge. He received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Bokor fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Stephen Millan.
Natasha DePrimo is appointed to the Broward County Court. DePrimo, 38, of Davie, is a senior attorney at the Florida Department of Transportation. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and her law degree from the University of Florida. DePrimo fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Arlene Simon Backman.
Christopher Ferebee is appointed to the Seventh Circuit Court. Ferebee, 44, of Ponte Vedra Beach, is the Managing Assistant State Attorney, St. Johns County, for the Seventh Circuit State Attorney’s Office. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. Ferebee fills the vacancy created by the removal of Judge Scott DuPont.
Paige Hardy Gillman is appointed to the Palm Beach County Court. Gillman, 34, of Palm Beach Gardens, is an attorney with the Law Office of Hugh Behan. She received both her bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Florida. Gillman fills the vacancy created by the removal of Judge Marie Santino.
Carlos Guzman is appointed to the Eleventh Circuit Court. Guzman, 48, of Coral Gables, is a Miami-Dade County Court Judge. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and his law degree from Villanova University. Guzman fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Ariana Fajardo Orshan.
Vegina “Gina” Hawkins is appointed to the Seventeenth Circuit Court. Hawkins, 45, of West Park, is an Assistant State Attorney for the Seventeenth Circuit State Attorney’s Office. She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her law degree from Nova Southeastern University. Hawkins fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Michael L. Gates.
Lody Jean is appointed to the Miami-Dade County Court. Jean, 40, of Coral Gables, is President of the Law Office of Lody Jean. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and her law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law. Jean fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Wendell Graham.
Robert Gregory “Gregg” Jerald is appointed to the Fifth Circuit Court. Jerald, 38, of Ocala, is the General Counsel and Staff Commander for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida and his law degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law. Jerald fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Jonathan Ohlman.
Frank Ledee is appointed to the Seventeenth Circuit Court. Ledee, 54, of Hollywood, is an Assistant State Attorney for the Eleventh Circuit State Attorney’s Office. He received both his bachelor’s degree and M.B.A. from Barry University and his law degree from Nova Southeastern University. Ledee fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge John Contini.
Dustin Stephenson is appointed to the Fourteenth Circuit Court. Stephenson, 44, of Panama City, is an attorney at Dustin Stephenson, P.A. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from Florida State University. Stephenson fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge James Fensom.
Gov. Scott Appoints Four to Florida Building Commission
Governor Rick Scott today announced the reappointment of one and the appointment of three to the Florida Building Commission.
Hamid Bahadori, of Lake Mary, is the vice president of Jansen Hughes, Inc. He is reappointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending February 7, 2021.
John Wiseman, 54, of Nokomis, is the president of Core Construction Services of Florida, LLC. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending February 11, 2021.
John Gatlin, 50, of Tallahassee, is the chief engineer of the Florida Bureau of Fire Prevention. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending March 11, 2021.
David John, 60, of Tarpon Springs, is an engineering manager with Stan Weaver & Co. He succeeds Steven Bassett and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending December 8, 2021.
These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Gov. Scott Reappoints Virginia Jackson to Indian River County Housing Authority
Governor Rick Scott today announced the reappointment of Virginia Jackson to the Indian River County Housing Authority.
Virginia Jackson, 74, of Vero Beach, is a retired assistant principal for the Indian River County School District. She is reappointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending June 14, 2022.
Gov. Scott Appoints Eight to Florida Developmental Disabilities Council
Governor Rick Scott today announced the appointment of five and the reappointment of three to the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council.
Yolanda Herrera, 73, of Hialeah, is a therapeutic foster parent for Pinnacle Family Services. She succeeds Bernadette Moran and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending September 30, 2022.
Elly Hagen, 55, of Fort Myers, is the owner of Elly Hagen Marketing & PR. She succeeds Rixys Alfonso and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending September 30, 2022.
Frank Shalett, 54, of Fort Lauderdale, is an advocate for persons with disabilities. He is reappointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending September 30, 2022.
Eddie Hall, 54, of Lakeland, is a greeter for Home Depot, Inc. He is reappointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending September 30, 2022.
Kali Wilson, 43, of Palm Harbor, is a nurse manager in behavioral health at the Medical Center of Trinity. She succeeds Pat Archer and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending September 30, 2022.
Sara Goldman, 26, of Tampa, is a legislative aide for State Representative Ben Diamond. She succeeds Kathy Leigh and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending September 30, 2022.
Kevin Johnson, 39, of Celebration, is the executive director of Bishop Grady Villas. He is reappointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending September 30, 2022.
Dr. Dennis Hart, 60, of Bradenton, is the senior director of developmental and rehabilitation services at John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning November 16, 2018, and ending September 30, 2022.
